Sona make Simplex permanent magnet stepper motor is part of the successful Bahubali LVM3-M6 BlueBird Block-2 Mission on Twenty Forth December 2025 from Sathish Dhawan spaceport. Sona make stepper is used in controlling the Mixture Ratio of LOX/LH2 for the third stage CRYO Engine for the burn time approximately 640 seconds successfully.
The LVM3-M6 / BlueBird Block-2 Mission is a dedicated commercial mission onboard the LVM3 launch vehicle, which launched the BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite of AST Space Mobile, USA. This mission marks the 6th operational flight of LVM3.
In this mission, LVM3-M6 placed the BlueBird Block-2 satellite, into the Low Earth Orbit and is the heaviest commercial communications satellite to be deployed in Low Earth Orbit. It will also be the heaviest payload to be launched by LVM3 from Indian spaceport. The satellite is part of a next generation of BlueBird Block-2 communication satellites, designed to provide space-based cellular broadband connectivity directly to standard mobile smartphones.
Our simplex permanent magnet stepper motor successfully performed more than 12 minutes in this mission.
